So I'm a little late (7 years) to jump on the Pavement bandwagon. Malkmus dissed The Smashing Pumpkins! I wasn't about to listen to that jerk! But maturity cures idiocy and this is my way of saying sorry to Stephen & co. Blue skies, windows down, playing these songs through the ipod behind the wheel of a bigass pickup... that's the life.

Footnote: 2 years without driving and my uncanny ability to arrive at my destination and have the song I'm listening to end at the same time has not diminished. I rule!

For the most part, the music I heard in Taiwan can only be described as soul-destroying... with a few exceptions. I caught Kaela Kimura's "Happiness!!" video on tv one day and couldn't get the song outta my head. Corny but infectious.

From jolly ol' England, The Spirit play grimy rock music spearheaded by frontwoman Liela Moss. That said, the first track is probably one of most romantic songs I've heard in a good while. The only word that came to mind was: sweeping.
